Mood: waiting for wind
13th February 2011
Windsurfing: Pevensey bay
Wind Direction: S - SE
Wind Stength: 20-25 mph
Surf / Sea State: some waves, onshore style
Air Temperature: 6 degrees
Sea Temperature: chilly but ok
Weather: drizzly miserable grey overcast but WINDY
Max Speed:
Distance Covered:

Keen as mustard, first at beach, rest turned up and all the faces lacked enthusiasm .... I was not going to be talked out of it, no matter how grey it looked, it was windy, tides were ok and thankfully Gutted just rocked up too ....
Also helped that 3-4 guys were sailing from the sailing club up the road so re-motivated, rigged up and rubbered up and offered myself to the elements.

Was okay for couple runs or so, then the cold gave me hot hand syndrome and I just had to land and tough it out. Typically I got nailed and ended up landing half a dozen beaches down from the launch ... great, no-one to dance with while my hands went through the pain barrier !!

That done, relaunched and sailed for a bit, and worked my way back to the beach where I'd actually started from.

Wind was a bit up and down, guess as showers pulsed through. Having gone through the pain barrier with my hands, the rest of the session wasnt too bad, well it wasnt until sailing out I got caught by a lull and a wall or two of white water to take me down. And it took me down and into a ripping rinser, where it was pretty much impossible to get up and going again .... cold, a bit knackered, and starting to feel real anger at the whole stupid posiiton i'd managed to park myself in, I just sailed it in and resigned myself to a walk back to the van.

Annoyed at how it finished up, but generally speaking not too bad a session, considering the chilly damp grey nature of the day. More of a 3.5 than a 4 but just gotta round up sometimes ;-)
